We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide private duty nursing care for a 3-year-old child diagnosed with Congenital Myasthenia Gravis in the Southeastern Ocala area. The patient has a tracheostomy and G-tube, requiring skilled nursing support and close monitoring.
Available Shifts:
- Friday Nights: 4:00 PM - 8:00 AM
- Saturday Days: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday Nights: 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized 1:1 nursing care in the patient's home
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Perform G-tube feedings, care, and management
- Provide tracheostomy care and monitoring
- Assess patient condition and respond appropriately to changes
- Implement the plan of care using sound clinical judgment
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation
- Follow BrightStar Care policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
- Adhere to HIPAA requirements and maintain patient confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Skills & Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact RN license
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Pediatric, home health, private duty, long-term care, or clinical experience preferred
- Experience with tracheostomy and G-tube care preferred
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
- Ability to pass background screening
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, push, pull, and twist as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Visual and hearing acuity required to safely perform nursing duties
