Why You'll Love This Job

Hybrid Role | Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
BrightStar Care is looking for an exceptional Chief of Staff to serve as a strategic partner and right hand to our Chief Executive Officer, and a key connective point across the CEO, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and Board of Directors.
This is a highly visible role at the center of the business. The Chief of Staff will help translate enterprise priorities into coordinated action, keep leaders and initiatives aligned, and ensure our most important work moves from decision through execution and adoption. You'll also own the operating cadence of the CEO's office—from Board preparation and ELT follow-through to maintaining visibility across enterprise initiatives.
We're looking for a high-performing strategic operator who pairs strong business judgment and analytical horsepower with a bias for action. You can bring structure to complex problems, connect the dots across the organization, anticipate where work may stall, and create the clarity and accountability needed to keep teams moving toward results.

Responsibilities

What You'll Own
  • Drive alignment and execution across enterprise priorities, ensuring clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, decisions, and measures of success.
  • Maintain a consolidated view across active strategic initiatives, identifying where work is off plan, priorities are competing, ownership is unclear, or executive intervention is needed.
  • Drive follow-through from decision through execution and adoption, tracking commitments made by the ELT and senior leaders and ensuring issues reach resolution and closure.
  • Surface cross-functional risks, dependencies, and gaps early and bring together the right leaders to resolve them.
  • Own the CEO's recurring operating cadence, including agenda development, pre-meeting preparation, priority reviews, decision tracking, and post-meeting follow-up.
  • Own end-to-end preparation for Board meetings, Board check-ins, and capital-partner reporting, coordinating financial, operational, and strategic inputs and developing polished materials and CEO briefing notes.
  • Synthesize complex issues, clarify tradeoffs, and ensure topics brought to the CEO or leadership team are ready for discussion and decision.
  • Triage incoming requests and issues, helping determine what requires CEO involvement and what should be routed to the appropriate functional leader.
  • Lead or support strategic analyses, special projects, and high-priority initiatives that cross functions or do not have an established functional owner.
  •  Support key enterprise planning and company-wide initiatives, including the Annual Operating Plan and BrightStar Care's Annual Owner's Conference.

Skills & Qualifications

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of progressive professional experience in Chief of Staff, management consulting, private equity or portfolio operations, corporate strategy, corporate development, strategic initiatives, or a similarly rigorous business environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with the ability to quickly understand a business issue, structure ambiguity, evaluate tradeoffs, and determine a path forward.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex, deadline-driven initiatives across functional teams and keep work moving without relying on formal authority.
  • Strong business and financial acumen and the ability to connect strategic, financial, operational, and organizational considerations.
  • Executive presence and sound judgment to work credibly with the CEO, executive leaders, Board members, and capital partners.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing or contributing to C-suite or Board-level communications.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships while also being willing to respectfully challenge assumptions, push for clarity, and create accountability.
  • A natural ability to anticipate needs, connect dots across the organization, and recognize when something is beginning to drift before it becomes a larger issue.
  • High curiosity, low ego, discretion, strong judgment, and a bias toward action.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience in a private-equity-backed company, franchise or multi-unit business, healthcare services organization, or other distributed operating environment is a plus.
